Chandigarh : The 38 member’s(33 students and 5 teachers) delegation on an exchange programme from Yishun Secondary School, Singapore made their presence felt in the city with visits to City Schools. As the delegation entered Govt. Model Sr. Sec. School Sector-35 they were given a warm welcome by Principal Mrs Indira Dhingra, her staff and students. As the students toured the schools the teachers discussed about the prevailing education system in India and Singapore.
The next stopover was at Chitkara International School Sector-25. The delegates learnt more about the Indian education system and use of technological equipments in educating young minds. The event was organised where students performed ‘Ganesh Vandana’ to familiarize them with Indian culture. Mr. Chanchal Singh, DEO was glad to witness the interactive sessions between the students and expressed his views that such program must be held frequently.
Dr. Madhu Chitkara, Chairperson and Mrs Niyati Principal, Chitkara International School, said that this meeting would be an important step in our efforts to improve the quality of technological education. Later in the evening the delegates toured the city on ‘Hop on Hop Off’ and enjoyed boating at Sukhna lake. The day concluded with the delegates visited the shopping plaza of Sector-17
