Students and staff of St. Xavier`s Senior Secondary School, Chandigarh celebrated their 30th “Founder`s Day” with great enthusiasm and alacrity. Under able guidance of Mr. Mervin West, Principal, the school is cherishing the goals and imparting holistic education. A vivid cultural bonanza was presented to entertain as well as educate. Welcome speech was given by Miss Parul Jhawer a student of Class XII.
A short play “Snow White & seven dwarfs” was presented in an articulated manner by the children of classes IV and V. Students of Nursery and KG mesmerized the audience with their song titled “Gummy Bears”.
Students of class X paid a tribute to St. Xavier`s depicting an amalgam of children of various states, cultures and nationalities. Senior boys of Class XI & XII presented a “mime” based on secularism. Students of classes III enthralled the audience with “Bhangra” having Flavor of Punjab. Students of classes VI & VII presented a foot tapping “South Indian Dance”. “Chammak – Challo” a performance on Bollywood dance was presented by the Girls students of I & II.
Powerfully presented “Jugni” a Punjabi Folk Dance by Hindi Choir and made the audience to dance along.
Mr. Andrew J Gosain, Chairman, St. Xavier`s Group of Schools blessed the children and thanked the parents who have shown their solidarity and faith as an extended arm of Xavarians` family in realizing the school`s educational objectives.
A vote of thanks was given by Miss Jasleen a student of Class XII.
