Dr. Avnish Jolly :Yesterday, Centre for Adult, Continuing Education and Extension (CACEE), Panjab University, organised a one-day training camp on “Ethics of Environment Protection- a Commitment towards Social Cause” at Government High School, Sarangpur village. They invited me to intract with students on health related issues. More than students and a community from the village interacted in the training programme.
During the interaction my focus was upon effects of junk food, electronic media and pesticides in agricultural production in our daily life and stress and strain related with adolescents. I felt that there is a need to educate the simple and thoughtful living among adolescents so that they should lead a happy lifestyle. Suddenly there was interaction on Kids and Computers and I find there are lots of myths related with computers. This motivates me to write on this issue.
Renu Gandhi, programme in-charge, from the CACEE highlighting the objectives of the programme in the starting and advocated that the time has come to make the community aware of the consequences of global warming. She expressed that since the issue of environment protection involved the whole community and society at large, involvement of all members to save natural resources is imperative to make healthy environment for the sustainable development of the society.
Nachitter Singh, Principal, Government High School, Sarangpur, said that there is need to adopt methods to protect environment in our day to day life.
