Mohali 22 Jan : Indo global colleges organized placement Drive at its campus for selection as Commissioned Officers in the Indian Army. The recruitments are being made under the 24th University Entry Scheme for Permanent Commission in the Army for July 2015.
A team of Army officials headed by the Commanding Officer Colonel Unmesh Sharma Captain Prashant and Subedar Major R. K. Sharma commenced it with a detailed presentation on career in the Indian Army. As many as 300 students from different colleges participated in it as it is not just a career; it’s a challenge to serve the nation, an opportunity to be trained in the hi-technology arena and a noble approach to be disciplined, civilized and cultured, and as rightly stated to become an Officer and Gentleman for life.
For eligibility under the University Entry Scheme, the student should be in the pre final year of an engineering degree course and qualify the Campus interview, followed thereafter by the final SSB Interview. The selection procedure follows a series of procedures such as Checking documents, Physical Measurements and Fitness test, Medical examination, preparation of merit list, enrolment and dispatch of selected candidates in order of merit to respective centers. after interview 43 students were selected. After final selection, the candidates would undergo one year training at Indian Military Academy, Dehradun before being commissioned. Also, on commissioning two years antedate seniority is granted to these officers.
Sukhdev Kumar Singla, Chairman of Indo Global Colleges while congratulating the selected candidates said that it is a matter of great pride that this is the fifth consecutive year that Indo Global Colleges has been hosting the Indian Army as nodal centre for selection of commissioned officers under the University Entry Scheme.
