This day was celebrated with the members of old age home and was graced by Dr. B.C Josan, Principal Dav College , Prof. In-charges, Prof. Ravinder Chaudhry, Prof. Ashok, Prof. Ravinder Dogra, Prof. Sumita Bakshi. Navsankalp follows the tradition of inviting people from old age home so as to promote feelings of love and happiness. Highlights of the event were a few performances by the members of the organization. All the guests from the old age home were delighted and highly overwhelmed to watch members perform for them. One of the senior citizens was so touched that he gave a little money to every member that performed.
NavSankalp has been a highly active association of college going students, that has saved the lives of over 63 innocent children, all below the age of 17, belonging to the poor strata of our society, by donating a sum of over 28 lakh rupees, till date, which the students collect by a number of fund raising events, such as ‘Market Collections’, and ‘Sparkles- The Mega Charity Event’. The organization was founded by Harpriya Kaur, a student of D.A.V. College Chandigarh, in the year 2006. Over the years the number of members has grown from a mere 6 in the year 2006 to a handsome 350 members today.
