MCM DAV College for Women organized the induction day ceremony today to welcome the freshers and introduce them to the virtuous value system of the college. This unique annual feature of the college is an innovative way of making the newcomers feel at home.
The infotaining event was enlivened by the presence of the recent college alumni achievers. Garima Singh (IRS) and Sushma Popli (teacher) who were felicitated for their exceptional feats expressed their deep reverence and gratitude for the college and emphasized the importance of most contemporary training at MCM in imparting wings to their dreams.
The event was packed up with infotaining activities. While a skit was performed to educate the new students about the rules and regulations of the college, folk and contemporary dances added life to the event. The students were also guided to follow the strict anti-ragging policies of the college.
Students were also familiarized with various committees and clubs. The teachers of the college were also honoured for their achievements. Dr. Sarita Chauhan was honoured for bringing home the Lyons Club Award for her exceptional endeavors in social service. Also, books by Dr. Sukhpreet Bhatia, Asstt Prof, Deptt of English, MCM DAV, titled ‘Tales of the Hereafter’ and Dr. Seema Kanwar, HOD, Deptt of Sanskrit, MCM DAV titled ‘Anandwaad’ were also launched at the event.
The Principal of the college said the event which is an annual feature of the college is an effective medium of communication with the new members of MCM contingent.
