The Department of Urdu, University of Jammu organized a function to release book of Professor Amar Nath titled “Poetry of Meditation on the sacred-An English Translation of Wali Mohd Aseer Kishtwari’s Kashmiri verses” published by peacode books New Delhi, in the Prof.Gian Chand Jain Seminar Hall. On this occasion Prof.Irshad Ahmed Hamal Vice Chancellor, Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University Rajouri was honoured for his contribution in the field of education. Prof.Dhar was also honoured by the Rasa Javedani Memorial Literary Society. The presidium was shared by Prof. Mohan Pal Singh Ishar,Vice-Chancellor University of Jammu.
Prof.Irshad Ahmed Hamal Vice Chancellor Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University Rajouri, Prof.A.N Dhar., Prof.Shohab Inayat Malik, HOD Urdu Deptt. and Wali Mohd Aseer Kishtwari, Director General Accounts & Treasuries (J&K).Prof.Ishar lauded the role of the efficient translators who by virtue of their hard work converted literature of one language in the other, widening its scope to its readers. He said that Prof.Dhar is a former HOD of English, having already bagged the best book Award 2007 for his book from the J&K Academy of Arts, Culture & Languages. In his address, Professor Hamal appreciated the translation works of Professor Dhar. He added that Aseer Kishtwari is a par excellent literary person whose writings have made him popular & it was in due recognition of his contribution that he got state award in 2011 & Best Book Award in 2007.
Prof. Misri and Dr. Ayaz Rasool Nazki presented their critic papers on the book and highlighted the values of this peace of literature. Earlier Prof.Shohab Inayat Malik HOD Urdu, commenting upon the book and overall literary publication’s of Prof. Dhar and Aseer Kishtwari said that both these writers have attained a good name & fame in the literary world. He said that Aseer Kishtwari, in fact discovered the erstwhile District Doda or Chenab Valley & introduced it to the outside world, through his publications like Tasveer-i-Zila, Zila Doda ki Adbi Shiknakht & focus on Jammu & Kashmir. Aseer Kishtwari, expressing his gratitude to Prof.Dhar Stated that despite of his ill-health he accomplished this task efficiently. Prof. Dhar extended his thanks to the Urdu Deptt, Vice Chancellor present on the occasion & Aseer Kishtwari for organizing this impressive function. The programme was ably conducted by Dr.Mohd Reyaz whereas vote of thanks was present by Dr.Chaman Lal.
