Kishtwar campus, University of Jammu, today added another feather to its cap when it introduce today prestigious PGDCA course and thus become one of the biggest campuses in Jammu region who is now offering four important regular courses at the door step of the people. The courses being run by the Kishtwar campus viz M.Sc.IT , M.Sc. Geology (H&SD), M.A. Kashmiri and now PGDCA. The PGDCA course was formally inaugurated by District Development Commissioner, Kishtwar Mohammed Saleem who in his address as Chief Guest congratulated Vice- Chancellor of Jammu University Prof. M.P. Singh Isher for introducing prestigious PGDCA course at Kishtwar. He said that the technical course will definitely help the students to get jobs in Government as well as in Private sectors.
The D.D.C said that after taking the charge of new Director Kishtwar campus Prof Shohab Inayat Malik had made the campus vibrant in very short span of time both academically and extra –curricular activities. The DDC appealed the parents of Kishtwar to mobilize their children for professional courses like M.Sc.IT, PGDCA. He said that Kishtwar has a lot of scope for doing research in the field of Geology and the students of Kishtwar Campus are requested to do more and more researches on the Geological aspects of the Kishtwar. Mohammed Saleem said that Kishtwar is academically fertile land and it has produced many towering poets, writers and intellectuals. He appealed to civil society members to cooperate the Kishtwar Campus so that it could become a model campus. Earlier in his welcome address Director Kishtwar Campus, Prof. Shohab Inayat Malik threw light on the activities of Kishtwar Campus. He informed that the Kishtwar Campus is only campus which is organizing academic and literary activities frequently. He also informed that in 3rd and 4th November 2012, for the first time in the history of Kishtwar Campus, a two day National Seminar is being organized where top most academicians of Information Technology will represent their research papers on the topic Trends in Information Technology and its Application in Industry” .
The DDC on the spot passed instructions to the XEN-Electricity Kishtwar that three phase electricity connection be provided to the Department of Geology (H&SD) so that its technical lab will work properly . He also assured that the drainage system would be improved in the campus soon. On its first visit to the campus, the Director of the Campus Prof. Shohab Inayat Malik presented a memento to the DDC, Kishtwar .
Later the induction party was also held in which the DC inducted the fresh students of M.Sc.IT and Geology (H&SD). The proceeding of the programme was conducted by Mr. Pardeep Singh,Teaching Assistant in the Dept. of IT and vote of thanks was presented by Dr. Kuldeep Kumar, Assistant Professor, Dept. Of Geology(H&SD). Earlier power point presentations of Geology dept. and M.Sc.IT Dept. was presented by Dr. Zahoor –ul-Islam and Mohd. Naseer ul Haq respectively.
