Idea must be executed for the benefit of the society and nation : Dr. Raj Nehru
September 25, 2017 : A programme “Innovative Ideas” has been organized by the Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Innovation and Incubation Centre of the Guru Jambheshwar University of Science & Technology, Hisar on Monday. Dr. Raj Nehru, Vice-Chancellor, Haryana Vishwakarma Skill University, Gurugram was the Chief Guest of the inaugural function organized in seminar hall No.1 of Ch. Ranbir Singh Auditorium of the University. Prof. Tankeshwar Kumar, Vice-Chancellor presided over the function. Dr. Anil Kumar Pundir, Registrar and Prof. K.C. Arora, Member of Executive Council of the University graced the function as guest of honour.
Dr. Raj Nehru said in his address that “Idea” should not be left at the stage of idea. Idea must be executed for the benefit of the society and nation. Teachers can play significant role to produce the innovative ideas. During the innovation of idea two aspects are essential to see. First is what is your idea and another is how marketable this idea is. Innovator should be aware that what are the challenges being faced by the society at present and how the particular idea can help to address these challenges. Dr. Nehru said that India had a glorious past in the field of education, science and culture. We had produced many scientists, doctors and engineers for the benefit of the human beings in ancient times. But, now we are lacking behind this area. We should improve our education system to touch again the heights in the field of science and technology.
Prof. Tankeshwar Kumar addressed that innovative ideas are the backbone of economy of the country. He exampled that the Singapore has no natural resources but still it is highly developed country for the reason its innovation index is on top. He remembered great visionary personality Shri Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Ji and said that if we want to fulfill the dream of Shri Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Ji to uplift the living standards of every poor person and also provide work to every hand. We have to strengthen our innovative programmes. Although we improved our innovation index since last two years still we need to work a lot. Prof. Tankeshwar Kumar declared that the University will make provisions of funding for the innovative ideas in the next budget.
Dr. Anil Kumar Pundir briefed about the life sketch and works done by Shri Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Ji for the welfare of society. He told that best selected ideas in this programme will be funded and a mentor will also be provided.
Prof. Yogesh Chaba, Dean Faculty of Engineering & Technology welcomed the guests and shared the information about the programme. He told that this University has organized first time such type of programme. More than 50 innovative ideas have been received on the social, environmental, health and many other issues from the departments of the University. Best ideas were awarded by the University. Skill expert Dr. Vikram Singh from ST micro was one of the judges in the programme.
