Chandigarh—Herbal nursery of ‘Naag Kesar’ was inaugurated by Vikram Dev Dutt, Secretary, Environment, Chandigarh at Government Sernior Secondary School, Dhanas here on Tuesday. Later on, a solar power plant was also inaugurated by Ramesh Kumar of Eco Club.
A Prize distribution function was also held to honour the budding artists of various schools who participated in the drawing and painting competition which was held on Oct 7 on the occasion of Wildlife Week celebration in association with the forest department, Chandigarh.
Ms. Seems Rani Vice Principal greeted the chief guest and briefed about that there were more than 40 varieties of 5000 plants in this nursery. She further informed the gathering that this nursery has presented Gloye Plants to the hon’able Prime Minister of India Mr. Narendra Modi which is a great matter of pride not only the village school but also for the whole Chandigarh.
All the officers were really impressed after listening the achievement of the school. Herbal plants being distributed to all the public free of cost. A cultural programme was also presented on this occasion by the students of the school. Ms. Prarena IV class Blind Students spoke eye opener speech. In his address Mr. Vikram Dev Dutt congratulated Principal Ms Harmeet Kaur for such a beautiful medicinal and herbal garden. He motivated the students to sensitize about the protection of wild life. Principal Harmeet Kaur thanked all the guests and appreciated the efforts put up by teachers.
