RANA,CHANDIGARH—April 26– The students of Himachal Pradesh University who are pursuing professional courses in different disciplines can now hope for better future as the Department of Commerce at HPU has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Neva Group of Industries for job placements for its students.
An official of the Neva said, ”Besides, commerce students, students of other professional courses in different disciplines of the university will also be preferred by the company while filling the vacancies as per its requirement from time to time.” The MoU shall remain in force for three years from the date of its execution, he stated.
The MoU was signed by the Registrar HPU, C.P. Verma and Amreesh Ghai, general manager, Neva Group of Industries in the presence of vice-chancellor Prof A.D. N Bajpai. The MoU will provide suitable job placements to the students of Master of Commerce at the university. It also specified the responsibilities in the joint efforts between participants to accomplish the aim.
Mr Bajpai said that with the signing of MoU the company would provide training to M. Com students free-of-cost. It will be a win-win situation for both the students and the company. On one hand, it will provide job opportunities to the students from time to time on the other man power requirements to the company, he said.
He further said that Neva Group of Industries was discharging its corporate responsibility by signing this MoU outlining the framework for the coordinated operations for academic-industry interface.
The company will be responsible for selecting applicants for vacant positions, conduct interviews, assess the background of the students, prepare a state of candidates for positions and coordinate training as per prescribed programmes and guidelines. The MoU will definitely enhance the job opportunities to the students and lead to the better employment.
