Amritsar, March 6 : The Guru Nanak Dev University has honored its Students-artists here today in the Guru Nanak Bhawan Auditorium of the University who brought laurels to the University in National and North Zone Inter-University Youth Festivals organized by University Grants Commission (UGC), New Delhi at various places.
Vice-Chancellor, Prof. A.S. Brar presided over and honoured 30 students who won the titles in National and North Zone Inter-University Youth Festivals with cash prize, medals, blazers and Certificates. Dr. Sarvjit Kaur Brar, Lady Vice-Chancellor was also present on this occasion. Dr. Rajinderjit Kaur Pawar, Dean, Academic Affairs, Dr. P.K. Shejpal, Dean, Students Welfare, Dr. M.S. Hundal, Dean, Colleges, Dr. Sharanjit Singh Dhillon, Prof. Incharge Finance and Development, Dr. Neelam Kamra, Principal, BBKDAV College, Amritsar and Prof. Mishra from APJ college, Jalandhar were also present.
Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Brar said that students should obey the philosophy Kirath Karo Nam Jappo and Vand Shako to excel in their lives. He said that students should not follow the western culture blindly and remember their mother tongue and culture.
Dr. Jagjit Kaur, Director Youth Welfare welcomed the chief guest and student-artists. She also detailed the achievement of the department on this occasion.
Dr. Jagjit Kaur said that university won National Youth Festival and North-Zone Inter-varsity Youth Fest Trophy. The teams of University also won music and literary trophies. She said that all those students who contributed to won these festivals alongwith their teacher-in-charge were also honoured.
