June 04, 2018 : It is the matter of great pleasure and encouragement for the university staff of Guru Jambheshwer University of Science and Technology, Hisar, when it has learnt that rupees fifty cores has been granted by Ministry of Human Resource Development for the Research and Innovation to the University. Guru Jambheshwar University of Science and Technology stood 7th among the 16 Universties of the country who got this grant.
Guru Jambheshwar University of Science & Technology, Hisar, which has accredited by NAAC ‘A’ grade university, and recently with graded autonomy by UGC, submitted its proposal under the Rashtriya Uchchatar Shiksha Abhiyan (RUSA) of rupees fifty crores.
University has proposed research centers which will focus in the areas such as Nano Formulation for Health Care, Food, Agriculture application, disease diagnostic applying novel materials etc.. University also proposes interdisciplinary centre for functional material and innovative devices.
The main focus of research will be of direct relevance to the society which will address the problems of common man. University also proposed to set up advanced computer simulation laboratory. It will set up facilities keeping in view the national priority scientific areas, long terms benefits and willingness of collaborating universities/partners to join hands for addressing key areas that are capable of improving the quality of human life.
The University has identified some of the problems in the above areas and has effectively contributed already at National as well as International levels. It is evident from the recent growth of the University, measured mainly in the form of ‘H’ Index of the university which has gone up to 73 at present from only 17 in the year 2009-10. The university faculty has published more than 2000 papers and more than 26000 citations in the international journals.
Last year the university has received grant of 10.25 crores by DST, New Delhi for promotion of research. The University under RUSA-I program was granted 20.46 cores under infrastructure. The good performance under Prof. Neeraj Dilbaghi, coordinator of RUSA which has hepled in getting Rs 50 cores grant of RUSA-II for Research and Innovation.
Prof. Tankeshwar Kumar, Vice Chancellor said that Rupees 20 crores will be incurred for equipments, Rs12 crores for infrastructure including supercomputing facilities, rupees six crores for construction and upgradation of laboratories and rupees five crores for post doctoral fellowship and technical staff and rupees seven crores will be incurred to meet other costs and consumables.
Prof. Tankeshwar Kumar, Vice-Chancellor, Guru Jambheshwar University Science and Technology, Hisar congratulated all the staff members and coordinator RUSA for this excellent achievement and also expressed that it has given responsiblity as we are to now grow to the level of International University.
