In order to promote the idea of ecology, to encourage respect for life on Earth, and highlight growing concerns about different kinds of pollution, the students of grade 6th to 10th undertook a rally around the school, carrying banners, posters, handouts and bookmarks prepared by them in school, which they handed over to over 100 houses in the close vicinity.
The recipients of the bookmarks were impressed with this initiative undertaken by the children and found the idea very noble and futuristic. The other students participated in the slogan writing, creative writing and poster making competition in school. Lalita Prakash, the director of the school said everyday is an Earth Day, but it needs to be celebrated becauseover the centuries we have mercilessly utilized and depleted the Earth’s resources and have forgotten what a beautiful gift we have been given in the form of planet Earth and that its beauty and essence needs to be restored in order to keep our future generations alive and healthy.
