To mark celebration Desh Bhagat Group of Institutes celebrated the International Women’s Day at sector 8C office premises on Thursday. The programme ingaurated lightening the lamp by Mrs.Tajinder Kaur, vice chairperson and Dr.Zora Singh, Chairman of Group .The programme started with Sarasvati Vandna by Staff Member.
The function named ‘Aprajita’ (unconquerable) was dedicated to class-4 women employees of the group. The Management of the group honored selected women employees who have been doing their duty with full dedication despite facing all types of hardships at the domestic front.
Presiding over the function, Desh Bhagat Group Chairman, Dr. Zora Singh said that today woman has got that position in the society for which she had been struggling for centuries. But even then she should not sit still and continue to fight for her rights. The first scripture of India, Rigveda tells us that mother is great and none can repay her debt. She regretted that evil of female foeticide is prevalent even today. So the girls should get education and become aware of their rights, so that they can become self-reliant and make their contribution to the development of the country.
Mrs.Tajinder Kaur talked about the struggles of women, women’s achievements throughout history and across nations who have overcome around the world to achieve equality. She said, “International Women’s Day is a major day of global celebration of women in all walks of life, from their importance in the home, in their profession, and in public affairs, but it has also evolved into a day of solidarity for women suffering hardships and for their rights
