Rajouri, Aug 16 : Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University celebrated Independence Day by unfurling National Flag where Registrar of University Mohammad Rashid Chowdhary termed this University as example of most secular University on India.
Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University students, faculty members and other staff gathered in the Vice Chancellor’s Lawn and celebrated Independence day. National Flag was unfurled by Registrar of University Mohammad Rashid Chowdhary while a contingent of Police gave guard of honour.
Addressing on the occasion, Mohammad Rashid Chowdhary said that Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University is observing all national days in its campus. He said that although University has been established on the revered name of sufi saint Hazrat Baba Ghulam Ali Shah Badshah, it has become one of the most secular University of the country where people from all faiths are living together peacefully setting an example for communal harmony.
He said that India was freed on August 15, 1947 after scarifies of great leaders and people should acknowledge the contribution of these freedom fighters. He added that freedom put a responsible on a person and everybody should do his work responsibly and dedicatedly.
On the achievements of University, Registrar said that in a short span of time, this University is competing with half centuries old Universities which is a matter of pride for students, faculty, other staff of the University and residents of Rajouri Poonch. He said that under the able guidance and leadership qualities of Prof Irshad Ahmed Hamal, University is achieving all goals and the tiring efforts of VC, this University will become self reliant in near future. He congratulated all the staff members, students and people of Rajouri Poonch on the occasion of 68thIndependence day and appealed all to cooperate this University in making it a best place of learning in J&K.
