By Y.S. RANA,CHANDIGARH—MAR—12—Sanction for appointment of 653 JBT teachers on contract basis in the Sarv Shiksha Abhiyan has been accorded by the Ministry of Human Resources and Development, Government of India to the Education Department, Chandigarh Administration, Chandigarh.
Confirming this, an official of the Education Department said that a communiqué to this effect has been received by the department from the ministry. He further stated that out of 653 vacancies, general category has 323 vacancies; OBC 166; SC 83 and physical handicapped 16. In case of ex-servicemen quota, he added that general category would have 36 vacancies; OBC 18, SC 9 and physically handicapped 2. Selected candidates will be paid Rs 16,600 per month.
Online applications can be submitted by login on www.ssachd.nic.in along with non-refundable fee of Rs 300 and in case of SC candidate Rs 150 from March 13 to April 3, 2012. It is also stated that after receipt of applications list of those who applied before the closing date complete in all respects, will be displayed within a week. Merit of candidate will be decided on the basis of scores he or she obtained as per selection criteria.
The official further stated that verification of original documents of eligible candidates would be taken from April 25 to 27 at Government Senior Secondary School, Sector 10. For purpose of transparency candidate wise schedule of original documents checking would be uploaded on the society WebSite, he disclosed. No intimation will be sent to the candidates by post.
In the first round of process of verification of original documents, it is decided to call double the number of candidates of vacancies against each category.
For purpose of details such as qualifications, age, selection criteria, procedure of submitting online applications, applicants are advised to visit the site on regular basis. All notices and updates in this respect will be uploaded on the society WebSite time to time, the official said.
The department has also sent the file to the Adviser to the Administrator for regularization of teachers who have been working as guest teachers under Sarv Shikhsa Abiyan since 2005 for approval, the sources in the department disclosed.
