Chandigarh— Seven day special camp organized by the NSS unit of GGDSD College, Sector 32-C, Chandigarh concluded here on Wednesday. During the camp various social issues were discussed and student /volunteers were sensitized on those issues. The activities like sensitization workshop on “Love Life Do Not Just Live It” and “Lure of West” were organized where youngsters were given chance to interact with experts and given chance to discuss on these social issues.
During the camp students have an opportunity to express their view and innovative skills through poster and slogans on the topic of “Beti Bacho Beti Padao” thereby ignited in them a sense of concern and responsibility towards this highly prevailing social issue. During the camp Tree Plantation, Swachh My Campus was conducted. Besides students have presented their ideas in Best out of Waste activity. Through this volunteers were taught to first start cleanliness from their own houses and surrounding. Clean not only garbage or dust but also clean our own thoughts.
A special medical camp was conducted at Bapu Dham Colony and during that day while some volunteers were busy in conducting medical camp, others along with Yuvsatta NGO volunteers went in the colony to spread awareness regarding Cleanliness and Dengue awareness.
Mr. Bikram Rana gave away the concluding remarks at the end of the camp and through various real life examples he shared his thoughts and highlighted burning issues of illiteracy, unemployment & poverty and discussed how these are linked with the campus to community. He requested the young participants to serve for the society and serve for the nation. On the concluding day students presented cultural events and take pledged to work for the development of the community and country
