6 Jan : High-profile Samajwadi Party spokesperson Amar Singh on Wednesday resigned as its General Secretary and other posts following deepening differences with party chief Mulayam Singh Yadav, saying his priority now was his health, wife and children.

24 Nov : In the wake of terrorist threat on the State Assembly, the Uttar Pradesh government has banned demonstrations and agitations in front of the Vidhan Bhawan building.
“In view of the terrorist threat to the Vidhan Bhawan and inconvenience caused to people due to traffic jams due to demonstrations, the government has decided to impose an immediate ban on agitation opposite the assembly building,” a government spokesman said in Lucknow on Tuesday.
