21 Sep : Union Home minister P Chidambaram flagged off the second non-stop Duronto express train between Chennai and New Delhi from Chennai on Monday morning.
This Duranto Train will have operational halt at Vijaywada, Warangal, Nagpur, Itarsi and Jhansi on both the directions.
Country’s first Duronto express between Sealdah and New Delhi was flagged off by Railway Minister Mamata Banerjee at the Sealdah station in Kolkata on 18th September.

9 Sep : External Affairs Minister S M Krishna and his deputy Shashi Tharoor left their temporary accommodation in five-star hotels after Congress President Sonia Gandhi is believed to have intervened.
Congress leaders today said Gandhi had told Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee to ask the two ministers not to stay in five star hotels and move elsewhere.
The party, however, downplayed the issue of Krishna and Tharoor staying in five-star hotels saying they were not burdening the public exchequer.

5 Sep : The ‘Black Box of the ill-fated Bell  430-helicopter which crashed on 2nd September on the  Pavurala Gutta of Nallama hill range in the Rudracodur forest area, killing Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Rajashekhara Reddy and all the four other occupants, had been found by the police.
Police found the cockpit voice recorder, popularly known as Black Box, on Friday evening.The Black Box will be handed over to the five-member enquiry committee appointed by the Director General of Civil Aviation, which is likely to visit the crash site …

Body of Rajashekhar Reddy brought to Hyderabad

3 Sep : The body of late Dr. Rajashekhar Reddy has reached Hyderabad for the last rites on Friday as his body will be kept in Lal Bahadur Shastri Stadium where people will pay their homage to the departed leader.
Four others who were also killed in the chopper crash were the Chief Minister’s Principal Secretary P Subrahmanyam, Chief Security Officer A S C Wesley, pilot Group Captain S K Bhatia and co-pilot Captain M S Reddy.
A pall of gloom descended as their bodies were received by the families.
