3 March : The United States is poised to launch on Wednesday the latest in its family of high-tech meteorological satellites that watch storm development and weather conditions on Earth from high in space.
The launch window for the Geostationary Operational Environmental Satellite-P (GOES-P) will open at 0617 pm (2317 GMT) on Thursday and close an hour later, US space agency NASA said in a statement.
A Delta IV rocket will carry the satellite to its orbit around 22,000 miles (35,406 kilometres) above the Earth’s surface.

13 Feb ; NASA has launched a probe to study the sun and its dynamic behaviour “in greater detail than ever before” on Thursday in washington.
A rocket ‘Atlas V’ carrying the Solar Dynamics Observatory (SDO) was Thursday launched from Florida’s Atlantic Coast.
The SDO is the first-of-its-kind spacecraft designed to study the sun, the agency said.
It is expected to unlock the processes inside the sun, on its surface, and in its corona that result in solar variability which when experienced on Earth, is called space weather.

5 Feb : NASA and European Space Agency (ESA) want to be part of Chandrayaan-II, the next Indian mission to Moon, by sending their instruments, ISRO Chairman K Radhakrishnan said in Bangalore on Thursday.
Replying to a query whether NASA and ESA have sent proposals to ISRO to be part of Chandrayaan-II, expected in 2012 or 2013, by sending their instruments, Radhakrishnan told reporters, “They are all there actually (they have sent proposals).”
