February 09 : Shri Jai Ram Thakur, Rural Development and Panchayti Raj Minister called on Sh. C.P. Joshi, Central Minister for Rural Development and Panchayati Raj at Jaipur yesterday. Shri Thakur apprised him of the progress being made by Himachal Pradesh in implementation of MNREGA.

February 07 : Prof. Prem Kumar Dhumal, Chief Minister said that beautification and development of Manali would be ensured in a systematic manner keeping in view the scenic beauty of the place recognized the world over. February 01 : Kangra District has been selected for the National Level Excellence Award for effective implementation of Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (MNREGA) by the Government of India.
Shri Jai Ram Thakur, Rural Development & Panchayati Raj Minister would receive this award during a function being organized by the Union Rural Development Ministry at New Delhi on 2nd February.
Dr. Manmohan Singh, Prime Minister, Shri C.P Joshi, Rural Development Minister, Government of India would also be present on the occasion.

January 28 : Himachal Pradesh Government had declared 30th January, 2010 as Gazetted Holiday in place of Restricted Holiday on account of Guru Ravi Dass Birthday to the employees working in all Government Offices/Boards/ Corporations/Educational Institutions in Himachal Pradesh.  This will also be a holiday under Section 25 of Negotiable Instrument Act of 1881 and also to daily wage employees.
