February 01 : Kangra District has been selected for the National Level Excellence Award for effective implementation of Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (MNREGA) by the Government of India.
Shri Jai Ram Thakur, Rural Development & Panchayati Raj Minister would receive this award during a function being organized by the Union Rural Development Ministry at New Delhi on 2nd February.
Dr. Manmohan Singh, Prime Minister, Shri C.P Joshi, Rural Development Minister, Government of India would also be present on the occasion.

January 28 : Himachal Pradesh Government had declared 30th January, 2010 as Gazetted Holiday in place of Restricted Holiday on account of Guru Ravi Dass Birthday to the employees working in all Government Offices/Boards/ Corporations/Educational Institutions in Himachal Pradesh.  This will also be a holiday under Section 25 of Negotiable Instrument Act of 1881 and also to daily wage employees.
