7 Feb :A delegation of senior officers headed by Secretary, Ministry of Rural Industries, Sri Lanka, Mr Nihalsomawaree with 24 National award winning craftspersons from Sri Lanka visited the 24th Surajkund Crafts Mela. Their motive was to study the functioning and set-up of the Mela and exploring the possibilities for organizing such art and crafts fair in their homeland. They were amazed to see the diversity of the Mela and have planned to organize a Mela of similar nature in Colombo somewhere in the month of July 2010.

7 Feb : Due to the immense popularity of the Mela and so as to manage the enormous crowd efficiently on weekends and holidays, the Surajkund Crafts Mela Authorities have decided to change its closing timings from 7:30pm to 8:00pm for the remaining weekend of the Mela. The ticket counters will also remain open till 8:00 pm on Saturdays, Sundays and holidays for the convenience of its visitors.

5 Jan : Six years after the CBI dropped abetment to suicide complaint against former DGP SPS Rathore in the Ruchika molestation case, Haryana Police on Tuesday brought back the charge against the disgraced officer by registering a fresh FIR.
The FIR, the third against Rathore since last week, has been registered on the complaint of Ruchika’s brother Ashu which he filed on December 31, Superintendent of Police, Panchkula, Maneesh Chaudhary told the news agency.
