The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has announced the result of Combined Medical Services, Exam, 2011. Examination was held by the Union Public Service Commission on 16.01.2011 and Personality Test held from 18.7.2011 to 26.7.2011. The candidates have been recommended for appointment to medical posts in the Railways, Indian Ordnance Factories Health Service, Central Government Health Services, Municipal Corporation of Delhi and New Delhi Municipal Council. A total number of 352 candidates recommended for appointment include 156 General Candidates (including 08 Physically Challenged candidates), 121 candidates belonging to Other Backward Classes (including 03 Physically Challenged candidates), 46 Scheduled Caste and 29 Scheduled Tribe candidates. Chennai-based law graduate S Divyadharshini has topped the prestigious Civil Services Examination 2010 for which the results were announced on Wednesday.The second position was also secured by a woman, Sweta Mohanty, a computer engineer, while R V Varun Kumar, a dentist from Chennai, got the third rank.
A total of 920 candidates, including 203 women, have been selected for the Civil Services, which attracts the largest number of candidates from the entire length and breadth of the country. 19 May : Yet again girls outshone boys with better pass percentages in the Class-X and Class-XII boards exams this year conducted by Council for Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE).
While the pass rate of students in Class-XII was 97.11 per cent, up by 0.03 per cent from last year, the pass percentage is 98.31 in Class-X which is 0.26 per cent more than last year, the board announced on Wednesday.
There were 55,760 candidates in Class-XII while 1,12,820 students took the test in Class-X ICSE exam held in March.
The pass percentage of girls in Class-X was 98.77 per cent against 97.95 of boys. Similarly, the pass rate of girls stands at 98.26 per cent in Class-XII while it is 96.17 per cent in case of boys.
The topper positions in both the classes have also been attained by girls with the Class-X topper securing 98.80 per cent aggregate marks.
The highest marks in Class-X have been secured by two girls with an aggregate of 98.7 per cent.
