21 Feb : The results of Common Admission Test (CAT)-2009 have been deferred to February end, an official statement from convenor of CAT-2009 at Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad (IIM-A) said on Saturday.
The results were supposed to be declared by this week, the convenor said without specifying the reasons for delay, causing large scale inconvenience to the B-School aspirants across the country.

7 Jan : In a bid to end corruption in giving approval to institutes, the AICTE has decided to shift to online registration process and relax land requirements for new institutes.
The AICTE will also issue unique identification number (ID) to faculty members of the AICTE-approved institutions, a mechanism that will help check the trend of certain faculties working in multiple institutions.
The bio-metric impression of each faculty member will be taken to track his movement.

30 Nov : Seven states are in advanced stage of implementing the newly launched Rashtriya Madhyamik Shiksha Abhiyan (RMSA) scheme which seeks to improve the quality of secondary education in the country and check the drop-out rate.
The project approval board for RMSA has approved the proposals of Chhattishgarh, Kerala, Mizoram, Punjab, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu and Uttar Pradesh earlier this month, HRD Ministry sources said.
The proposals worth Rs 652 crore, approved by the board, involves Rs 489 crore of central assistance.
