Chandigarh : There are many foreign countries which are participating in CII Agro Tech 2012 as India has become the central attraction for foreign markets and developed countries are showcasing their technologies to help India gain stability and sustainability while enhancing their own growth. Companies from Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Korea, Spain, Argentina and USA are displaying their products.
Piet de Jong of Grimme Group, Germany stated that they are promoting machines which help a farmer right from sowing the crop to its scientific storage. “We have planting machines, ridge, harvesters and store fillers which are drawing customers to our stall. However, we are also looking for Indian business partners as the decision making process of the farmers is likely to be a prolonged one, as they would need to arrange finance etc.,” he added.
The Canadian company Step Saskatchewan Trade and Export Partnerships is showcasing its wide range of products such as high quality oilseeds, grains and pulses. Two brothers Gerard Smit and Huib Smit from Holland are promoting their ‘All Round’ weighing, storage and sorting machines Even if all these organizations have different products and belong to different countries, they have one common goal – which is to tie-up with local partners and mutually grow.
CII AgroTech has come as a boon to both the international companies as well as the Indian farmers and to the nation overall. To provide food security in India, it has to grow in double digit and for this farmers have to adopt new technologies which can be provided indigenously as well as from foreign countries who are reaching out from thousands of kilometre away. “AgroTech has become a perfect meeting ground for this,” stated Piet de Jong.
