The 2013 data is for period between January and October. The percentage of growth has been analysed with the number of passengers carried by the airlines during the year and the number of passengers carried out by the airlines during the corresponding period of the previous year.
The rise in air traffic growth is very significant when compared to the top ten countries of the world in civil aviation. To further this growth the Government has been pursuing with the State Governments to reduce VAT on ATF. The Government has also allowed direct import of ATF by Indian carriers as actual users, tax concession for parts of aircraft and testing equipment for third party maintenance and repair and overhaul of civil aircraft to promote civil aviation.
