Madhya Pradesh keeps itself above politics on development issue – C.M. Shri Chouhan
Bhopal:Tuesday, November 17 : The Chief Minister, Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that Madhya Pradesh keeps itself above the politics on issues pertaining to the development of the state. He said that the country and the state as well could move ahead on the road to development undertaking development works by rising above political ideologies. Shri Chouhan said that it is the need of the hour to work together to achieve the prime objective of development and progress, thereby creating a new history. The Chief Minister was speaking at the dedication ceremony of the Ultra Voltage Transformer Unit on the premises of the Bhopal Unit of the Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited, here today.
Describing the country’s first Prime Minister Pt. Jawaharlal Nehru as the architect of modern India in true sense, the Chief Minister Shri Chouhan paid tributes to him. Shri Chouhan said that Pt. Nehru had dedicated the Bhopal unit of BHEL to the nation. He said that Madhya Pradesh is proud of Bhopal unit of BHEL. In this context, Shri Chouhan said that Upper Lake of Bhopal and BHEL unit have no other match in the country.
The Chief Minister Shri Chouhan demanded that the joint undertaking of the National Thermal Power Corporation and BHEL should be established on the additional land of the Bhopal unit of BHEL. He said that the state government is all prepared to allot more land for establishment of this project. Shri Chouhan also drew the attention of the Union Ministers towards the delay being caused by the BHEL in construction of the Chachai and Birsinghpur Plants. He pointed out that these plants which were initially to be completed in 2007, are still lying incomplete. Shri Chouhan also lauded the achievements of the Bhopal unit of the BHEL.
The Union Minister for Heavy Industries and Public Enterprise, Shri Vilas Rao Deshmukh who was chief guest on the occasion, described the inauguration of the Ultra High Voltage Transformer Unit as a milestone in the energy sector. He said that BHEL plays an important role in meeting the energy requirements of the country. He said that the Central and the State Governments as well should come forward extending all possible cooperation to BHEL in order to improve the situation of energy in the country.
Shri Deshmukh stressed on timely completion of various ongoing energy projects of the country and the states, admitting the delay caused by the BHEL. He said that the land measuring 2500 acres available with the Bhopal unit, would be utilized on priority basis in expansion of forthcoming projects of the BHEL.
Shri Deshmukh said that various problems of the employees of Bhopal unit of BHEL would be solved after discussion and examination. He said that the credit of achievements registered by the Bhopal unit of BHEL goes to its employees and officers.
Speaking on the occasion, the Union Minister of State Shri Arun Yadav said that he is striving hard to ensure that the benefits of the central schemes specially the schemes of the Heavy Industries Department reach out to the State. He informed that the Centre and the State Government are working together towards setting up of new plants in order to remove the shortage of electricity in the state. He further informed that with the dedication of this ultra high voltage transformer unit today, the capacity of transformer manufacturing of the country would increase from 1800 megawatt to 30000 megawatt.
The Secretary, Union Ministry of Heavy Industry and Public Enterprise, Dr. Satyanarayan Das and Chairman-cum-Managing Director of Bhopal unit of BHEL, Shri P.B. Rao also spoke on the occasion. The CMD, Shri Rao felicitated Shri Deshmukh, Shri Chouhan, Shri Yadav and other guests including the Urban Development Minister Shri Babulal Gaur, Zila Panchayat President Shri Lakhan Meena, former MLA Shri P.C. Sharma, former Mayors Smt. Vibha Patel and Shri Deepchand Yadav, and Shri Ravikant Saxena by presenting bouquets and shawl and shreephal to them.
The members of the Board of Directors of BHEL, Executive Director of Bhopal unit, Shri Dube and a large number of employees were present on the occasion. The Director, Human Resources, Shri Anil Sachdeva proposed a vote of thanks.
