By Lakshita Popli : People have forgotten humanity these days . Everybody is so busy earning his own living that they have really forget the minority section in our country.According to Sensex 67% of the population in our country is below poverty line..
But amongst all these there are some people who are really doing a great job and trying one step to bring the change in the society… And a very good example for this is a girl named Harpriya Kaur of D.A.V. College who with his two professors Dr. Umesh Vinayak and Dr. Ashok Kumar started the NGO named “NAVSANKALP” in year 2006.
NavSankalp is a Charity Association that empowers the downtrodden and links them with the main stream through financial support. More specifically, NavSankalp helps those critically ill children, whose family cannot afford the treatment of their child’s ailment.
According to Manila Bachan vice president of NavSankalp 2014 Harpriya Kaur was a very kind lady. She could never see anybody crying. Once she was sitting outside the college and a poor couple with their child was begging outside the college to get their child s treatment done.
That was the 1st time she got striked to help people with the help of the NGO.
She collected the sum of Rs.3500/- and donated that to the couple to get their child’s treatment done.
Manila again said that earlier there were very few volunteers but now as of 2014 nav sankalp has 250 members working with them which are guided by professors of dav college sector 10 Mr. Ravinder Chaudhary and Rosy Ahluwalia..
NGO deals in treating the ill people who cannot afford the treatment with the help of PGI and Dr. Anuradha Jatana..
Recently on September 10, NavSankalp has donated sum of rupees 50 thousand to a child name Dheeraj who was suffering from brain tumor in the presense of kiran kher member of Parliament from Chandigarh..
One more example for this is the NGO named SAARTHI which is being run by the Panjab university students, Mr. Sanmanbir Singh and Mr. Tarun kumar Saini…
Sanmanbir told that they dont take donations to run this NGO, they earn themselves and a part of their earning is being used to run this NGO.
Salute to these students who in this scenario have such a great thinking that they have really made a step forward to bring a change in our society.
There are also many people who are running the NGO’s for the sake of saving the taxes , getting grants and getting money from Government institutions should actually learn from these youngsters.
