One of the most adored God at all times is dear Lord Ganesha, son of Shiva an Parvati, tjh man with the elephant head whose incredible powers include eliminating all kinds of obstacles for his devotes an devotees.
Sincé ancient times God Ganesha respesents abundance and good luck for all of us, and maybe that ´s the reason why his anniversary, the annivesary of his birthday.and his eternal rebirth, is so important for us an is considered one of the most important festivals in the hindu calendar.
Ganesha Chathurti-the festival ´s name. begins September the 9 th and it might go on even two weeks more, not only in India, but also in another countries where hindu community and hindu followes are thousan of souls, and consider Lod Ganesha their favorite God, so almightyy and powerful he is for the ones who believe in him.
Also Gansha is the saint patron of the writers: I encommend to him whenever I have to write an essay or a book.
Back to the festival, in India preparatives begin at least, two months before the celebrations: skilled artisans compete for carving the best and the bigger Ganesha sculpture they can, and even ecah town competes with each other for making the best festival all around. Ganesha parades, food and gifs offerings, are part of the festival, also. Singing and chanting devotional songs and mantras dedícated to Ganesha, both in sanskrit and in eachh country ´s language, is also a very emotional part of the event. when all the community gets together to be present the ceremony. Sharing some food an sweets, homre-made cookies and cakes in his honor, is also part of the celebration.
This important festival is also known as Vinayaka Chathurthi, and the last day of the celebration is called Anant Chathurthi
