As per data compiled by the Agriculture Ministry, major foodgrain and oilseed crops have been grown in more area than that at this time last year. As of now, sowing of kharif pulses and bajra has jumped by a big margin as compared to last year.
The cropped areas this year and last year for major kharif crops are as follows:
