SAARC Folklore Festival – 2009 at MCM
9 Nov : MCM DAV College for Women was mesmerized today on the 4th day of SAARC Folklore Festival – 2009 held at the institution. International teams from SAARC nations and artists from various states of India exhibited their enormous amount of talent and creativity.
Mr. Vijay Sabharwal, Secretary DAV CMC, New Delhi graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. He congratulated the college for being a platform to an international event. He thanked the management and the organizers profusely.
Sh. Nataraja, Charamchitra Committee from Andhra Pradesh presented leather Puppet Show, the characters enacting “Sunder Kand” from “Ramayana”, The Afghanistan band presented classic Afghani song. The “Purulia chao” group from west bangal elected episodes from the epic of “Mahabarata”. Dr. Puneet Bedi, Principal of the college encouraged the students to learn from such great opportunities and said that the event was a podium to turn students into global citizens, rebuild our faith in international relationship and to preserve our folk tradition.
