Prez, VP, PM, Sonia greet people on the eve of Diwali

16 Oct : President Pratibha Devisingh Patil, Vice President Mohammed Hamid Ansari, Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh and UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi on Friday greeted the nation on the occasion of Diwali.
In her message, President Patil, expressed hope that this year’s festival will bring peace, prosperity and communal harmony among the people.
Vice President Ansari said Deepawali symbolises the triumph of good over evil, light over darkness, and truth over untruth.
In his message, Prime Minister Singh said Deepawali is an occasion for strengthening the bonds of friendship and goodwill between people.
Sonia Gandhi in her message, described Diwali as a “pious festival” and said this is the symbol of prosperity and happiness.
