Dalhousie summer festival concludes

1 July ;The Two-day long Dalhousie Summer Festival, revived after a gap of twelve years, concluded late last evening. Prof. Prem Kumar Dhumal, Chief Minister presided over the closing ceremony at the renowned tourist destination Dalhousie in district Chamba and also visited exhibition stalls.

Chief Minister congratulated the district administration and local organizers of the town for revival of the Summer Festival celebrations, which had been popular with the tourists visiting the town during summer and boosting tourism activities in the entire district. He said that the festival also provide local artistes opportunity to exhibit their cultural heritage and introduce the visitors to the legacy being carried by them. He said that cultural troupes from other parts of the State also participate in such festivals, which present a rainbow of different colours on one stage. He said that Chamba itself was culturally rich and renowned for its folk culture and such occasions go a long way in preservation of the rich cultural heritage of the State. He hoped that the organizers would continue with the Festival activities in future as well so that tourists visiting the town were entertained.

Smt. Renu Chadda, local MLA welcomed the Chief Minister and thanked him for the patronage extended to revive the old festival of Dalhousie town after a gap of twelve years. She counted various milestones established in her home segment during past one and half year term of the state government and said that the impact of the accelerated pace of development was visible.

Shri Tulsi Ram, Speaker, HP Vidhan Sabha, Shri V.K.Kohli, former Governor of Mizoram, Shri B.K.Chauhan, MLA, Pandit Amar Nath, President, Banikhet BJP Mandal, Shri Prakash Shandil, President, Chamba BJP Mandal, Shri Devesh Kumar, Deputy Commissioner, party office bearers, senior officers and prominent people of the town were present on the occasion.
